Ms. Chiedi joined DLA Piper in January 2020. She provides strategic support, business strategies, and operational and program oversight that drives positive solutions and innovation across the firm and to their clients.

Before joining DLA Piper, Ms. Chiedi was appointed Acting Inspector General and COO/Principal Deputy for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Inspector General where she was responsible for overseeing the integrity and efficiency of the Nation’s $2.2 trillion in Federal health care, public health, and human services expenditures as well as the health and welfare of the people they serve.  Ms. Chiedi advised and worked closely with stakeholders across the Federal government, Congress, and Industry.

From 1989 to 2005, Ms. Chiedi served with the U.S. Department of Justice as the Deputy Executive Officer for the Civil Rights Division and the Deputy Administrator for the Office of Redress Administration (ORA). In ORA, a $1.64 billion program, she was responsible for locating, verifying, and executing payment and a presidential apology to over 82,000 Japanese Americans who were interned, evacuated, or otherwise denied civil liberties in the U.S. during WWII.


Ms. Chiedi received the President’s Rank Award for Distinguished Service and many other Department-level awards. She has authored Op-Eds and is a seasoned public speaker, both on camera and at national conferences.
